CRAZY DEE'S WEBSHOW: CAP RAP VS. HIP HOP PART 1
Show Detail:
The pot continues to be stirred as Cleveland continues to turn! The battle that has been in existence since Hip Hop spread outside of New York into other cities who had unique flavor, has continued to live on in Cleveland, Ohio. It has been this way since the DJ was placed on the back burner for the MC. (Background: When the East Coast Vs. West Coast thing was going on, the fans and the artists in Cleveland took sides. Those who had been snubbed by East Coast Artists (when they came to Cleveland) understood the stand The West Coast Artists were making and the stand The Southern Artists make today. For those who were fans and loved just being around The East Coast Artists anything went, even the disrespect.) Bringing it forward, Cleveland was influenced by The East and The West and now The South! Many who deal with "lyrics" base their thoughts of Hip Hop on a New York model. If a person is about the reality talk-- "the flow" their thoughts are based on a LA model. And, if a person is about the music and fun lyrics - "the soulja boy" their thoughts lean towards ATL and other southern states. This is the internal battle going on in Cleveland today. It is probably like this in other cities, but I write and document history from the city I know, Cleveland! As the Cappin' rap movement has risen in Cleveland there has been a grumbling of disgruntled MC's who believe they have been ignored. It is a belief which is growing which says, 'lyrics are being dumbed down to sale records, no metaphors or slick wordplay-- just ABC rhymes.' The debate is chronicled here, beginning with part one of the show. I leave it up to you to weigh in or decide which side you fall on! I will say this, because of the nature of Hip Hop -- the battle etc., no ones style or model on how Hip Hop should be delivered is ever going to be acceptable. They will always be a disagreement on what Hip Hop is and isn't, and that is why I titled the show Cap Rap Vs. Hip Hop Part. 1. It's all Hip Hop to me! I know, you're going to disagree and that's Hip Hop!! Artists on the show: The Freeway Boys, C2 and Tone P from Fly Boy Music. Footage from The Rebel Army Radio Awards which took place on December 21st, 2008 (the first day of winter in Cleveland, and winter came in to let everyone know it was winter time, 10 degrees below, and it has not let up as of January 28th, 2009). Next time on part 2: Proph The Problem, Nappy Head Ent., and many more... . Enjoy the show!!!

Crazy Dee releases part 2 of Cap Rap Vs. Hip Hop! As the battle continues between what is considered Hip Hop and what is not considered Hip Hop, more voices are heard on this episode of Crazy Dee's Webshow. Taped at The Rebel Army Radio Awards, Hip Hop was the main discussion on the Mic, and Hip Hop was on the mind of the artists interviewed! (www.myspace.com/nappyheadincorporated) San Goodee speaks about how long Nappy Head Entertainment have been in the business of providing Hip Hop, and Poohman chimes in about the promotions end of NHE, and now the being Artists end. Poohman talks about Cap Rap, and how he believes in people doing what is them. He goes on to say, "If I say Cap Rap is wack, that would make me a hater!" (Must See Interview.) Chris Todd elaborates on its more lyrics than music that he looks for when listening to Hip Hop, and what Hip Hop was about in the 90's. (www.myspace.com/garbsinfinite) Garbs Infinit is interviewed next by Crazy Dee. Garbs says he is an MC who is about Real Hip Hop, Lyrics, Beats and Saying Something On The Mic (Responsibility).
